Conversation Tutorial

  • Each tutorial consists of 5 semi-private sessions (4-6 students with 2 instructors).
  • Tutorials can be geared to Beginner and Intermediate levels.
  • Each 90 minute session encourages structured conversation centered on a theme:
                     Dining Out         Cooking/Baking          Guitar lessons
                     Shopping           Travel                        Fencing
  • Sessions are taught on-location, offering authentic language experiences.  

Vocational Workshop

  • Each 3 part vocational workshop is taught by one language instructor and one subject matter professional.  
  • Relevant to all levels of Hebrew proficiency.
  • Open to both professionals and consumers.  All meetings include breakout sessions where participants can discuss topics of relevance to each group.  For example, the collaborative tasks given to medical professionals would differ from language needs of consumers of health care, yet they both require the same vocabulary to communicate.
  • Topics for the 60 minute sessions include:
                      Medicine
                      Law
                      Architecture 
  • Workshops are taught in classroom spaces.

Strategic Hebrew Soiree

  • A Strategic Hebrew Soiree is an opportunity for Hebrew speakers of all levels to come together and exercise their language skills.
  • Each 2 hour soiree is a single session experience, often celebrating the end of a conversation tutorial or vocational course.  A soiree is open to students and the public!
  • There is a short brainstorming session during the first 20 minutes for those who wish to brush up on specific terminology.  Otherwise, the Soiree offers an opportunity to practice Hebrew in a non-judgmental social setting.  
  • Refreshments/entertainment are provided, depending on the theme of the evening:
                         Cocktail Hour: Join us for an evening of conversation and refreshment
                         Frisbee: Exercise your Hebrew skills on the Ultimate Field!
                         Travel: Share your travel experiences with other Hebrew speaking globe trotters!
                         Game night: Take time out to play your favorite games... in Hebrew!
  • Soiree locations are topic dependent.  

Afternoon Activity Classes

  • Strategic Hebrew partners with religious schools and community centers to provide engaging activity modules that offer both extra-curricular fun and Hebrew language instruction.

At CRS, the Mercaz Sicha (Conversation Center) starts with basketball for 7th Graders. 


JJP offers "The Siddur Speaks: A *Strategic* approach to Prayer" to 3rd-6th grades.

During the whole course, we learned Hebrew words relating to basketball and incorporated them into our game in the gym. For example, Basketball in Hebrew is כדור סל. The class was a lot of fun and I am considering coming back next semester!
